At Thistleknowe Care Home we are proud to provide the highest standard of care for all of our Residents.
At Thistleknowe we are on call to provide twenty-four hour care for our residents when they need it.
Our experienced and dedicated staff enable us to care for those with physical disabilities, those requiring palliative care, those with high dependency needs, those with dementia and confusion and those who become infirm. We also offer respite care
Nurse Call System
Should you require the assistance at any time of the day or night, there is a call system fitted throughout the building including your bedroom, so you will receive attention at the press of a button.
Medical Care
In the event of either illness or an emergency, only your next of kin will be notified unless otherwise recorded in your personal plan.
Spiritual Care
We encourage visits by Clergymen of all denominations to the nursing home to provide for the spiritual needs of the residents.
Alternatively, you may wish to attend your own church with family or friends.
We have a private chiropodist who visits the Home and will be delighted to attend to your chiropody needs as regularly as necessary.
Podiatry
A National Health Service Podiatrist attends regularly, or if you prefer private arrangements can be made.
Optical and Dental Service
Our staff will make necessary arrangements should you require optical or dental treatment, inspection or advice.
Dementia
Our staff are fully trained to understand dementia, and we take pride on providing the highest levels of care and respect for every individual.
Through daily planned activities, social and mental stimulation and interaction, frustrations and tensions linked with dementia are relieved.
Single rooms
Although we can accommodate couples in our special double sized room we give all residents the option of a single room to maintain dignity and privacy.
